Olta

Privacy by design

Your health answers stay on your device.

Health apps usually collect what you tell them and then work hard to protect it. Olta Health takes a different route: your answers are scored and kept on your own device, so a breach of our servers would not expose them.

Less to breach

Answers that never reach a server cannot leak from one. What we do store is minimal and contains no health details tied to you.

You hold the key

Backups are encrypted on your device. We cannot open them, and neither could anyone who got into our database.

No middleman

You speak to clinics directly using their own contact details. Olta is not copied on that conversation.

Trade-offs to know about

  • Your data lives where you put it. Clearing your browser or switching phones removes it unless you download a copy or keep an encrypted backup.
  • We cannot recover what we cannot see. If you forget your backup passphrase, or lose both your password and recovery code, we have no way to restore them.
  • No email reminders. Reminders appear in My Olta when you open it, because we do not keep your email address.
  • Some things are still logged. Our hosting provider briefly records IP addresses for security, and community posts are public by nature. The privacy policy lists everything.
